WarThunder convinced me that the government knew nothing about aliens.

Specs on military tanks get leaked all the time because nerds want War Thunder to be more accurate.

I realized that if the Government had documentation on aliens, they would have been leaked by nerds who wanted to see real aliens portrayed in Star Trek and X-Com.
