Im pretty sure the oldest handhelds that people actually played in public (yes there were earlier but I'm talking something you would actually see) would be the GB/GBA which was mostly played by millennials. Meanwhile the DS was played by a mix of millennials and older Gen z.

The Gameboy with Tetris was a huge phenomenon, and it released in 1989, it was very popular with young adults back then which were Gen X and boomers

There were single game handheld devices since the early 80's, so boomers/X were definitely the first generations with them.

Sure but they didn't gain mass popularity, if you combined all the game and watch games their sales would be less than half of the GB
