My real answer to this is always simple: if Bernie people had refused to vote for Hillary in 2016, instead of capitulating and teaching the DNC that they could demand votes for nothing, would they have dared fuck him over again to run Biden in 2020?

If nominal leftists had stood firm and refused to vote for Biden in 2020, instead of capitulating and teaching the DNC that they could demand absolutely anything without fear of reprisal, would they have been bold enough to demand we vote for genocide in 2024?

Now that so many have capitulated and voted for genocide, teaching the DNC that they have absolutely no consequences to fear from telling voters to go fuck themselves, what reason do they have to consider "progressive" opinion ever again?

Civil rights, workers rights, slavery abolition: these things were not given by benevolent overlords as reward for obedient behavior. They were taken as concessions by a ruling class scared of the alternative.

What fear does preemptive compliance instill? None. So what use is it in extracting concessions from a hostile party? None. You don't stop an oppressor by indulging them, you do it by terrifying them and demonstrating power.

Why do you think that Biden loosing would have taught the DNC something when Hillary and Kamala loosing didn't?

I don't, all of this presupposes a democratic party not inimically hostile to leftists, but liberals are mostly not ready for that conversation so this answer is my way of getting them to think about power and leverage.
