I think the c suite in general could be replaced, because they don't need to get highly technical things specifically correct, they just need to have a general vibe that the lower ranking people can interpret.
That said a much better algorithm for replacing c suite people would be some kind of democratic system that polls the whole company to determine the company's direction.
