My favorite story about Twisted Sister is that Dee Snyder basically told Al Gore to his face in a Senate hearing “your wife’s a freak”

And then later in another hearing Bob Denver basically told a fangirling Gore “I’m glad you’re a fan but censoring music is bullshit. Now if you’ll excuse me I have a meeting with NASA.”

I’ve never seen Al look so dejected.

Watch the full thing. It's amazing. He fully calls out Congress for judging him by his cover.

He also calls Tipper Gore an outright liar in his refutation of accusation #3. That's just 7 minutes into a 30 minute testimony. They accidentally asked the late '70s to early '80s version of Tom Morello to testify in Congress and gave him 30 minutes to plead his case.

Edit: Around 12 minutes in, Senator or Representative Foghorn Leghorn decides to propose a hypothetical question that takes far too long.... Dee Snider manages to answer succinctly and eloquently as he does for the subsequent 18 minutes of Congressional inquiry.

They’re the only Senate hearings I rewatch every couple years

ETA: I tell a lie. I also rewatch Mr. Rogers’ testimony, though a lot more than every couple years.
