Tesco, the UK’s dominant grocer, is the largest private-sector employer in the country. It has more than 300,000 employees across the UK and Republic of Ireland and more than 5,000 stores.

Prasad acknowledged Tesco was in “good financial health” but said the highly profitable retailer had invested an extra billion pounds in wages over the past five years.

£1 billion over five years divided between 300k workers means each worker got ~£3,333 over a five year period. That isn't as "amazing" for workers as it sounds.

...which evens out to about £666 a year per worker. Do we need more proof corporate bosses are the devil's work?
