I find it really funny and intriguing that we think so many apex predators (apex in their environments) to be cute. Like, if we were just a smart but the size of a mouse, cats and owls would be horrifying monsters. But they are like 8 lbs max a lot of times and just so fluffy and spazzy and adorable.

Like, the capacity for violence is still there too. A properly pissed cat or owl would fuck up an unarmed person for a second.
