I don't think you understand, but in Latin America, left wing candidates are not socialist, neither communists. They stick that label because it makes them kind of popular as they create the illusion of an alternative to right wing politics. However, in reality they are the same, with the extra that their parties think its their turn to become rich. So they are more corrupt, they steal more and the countries stagnate. So, unfortunately the lesser evil (because they all are evil) is a moderate right wing party.

(Disclaimer I know next to nothing about this particular candidate, but my comment still generally applies to most Latin American countries)
