I just built a rig I intended to last me the next ten years, and to obtain independence from Windows, NVIDIA, and Intel (though obviously not their x86 architecture or their AV1 encoding/decoding). I swore I wouldn't build another in that time unless things changed drastically soon and/or components became really cheap. I figured in ten years I'd be able to compile a much more Chinese rig (well, y'know, moreso than I have now because everything has some stuff from there).
