Tbh yeah I'd have trouble with a specific city in Poland, but I could point to Poland at least, never been though and would still not tell some Polish dude how it really works there. But also that's like telling some Lithuanian "Point out Albany NY (their state capitol)," I can't expect that, the state itself would be good enough.
(Also just to reiterate, I was making fun of the guy you were arguing with, not actually you!)
