I knew a cat that kept eating hair ties, went to the vet because of it.
I was lucky and found my cat had just swallowed most of one after breaking it. Had to reach into her mouth and pull it out. D:
Keep a count of the ones you have, just in case. And keep them tucked away. My cat was an addict. (She's fine now but would still eat more in a heartbeat)
My cat did too. They endoscoped 30 hair ties out of her stomach. They're no longer allowed in our home. And I'm always checking if she finds something to play with. The only cat we've had that did it, and who bites, too. And yet she'll let her food sit around in the bowl until she feels like eating. It's a prey thing, I think.
