Generally, an artifact should be 100+ years old, but this is a flexible requirement if you find something rare and suitably linked to an era of history, not a strict rule. Anything over 100 is fair game regardless of rarity.

Damn, that kinda looks like something that would pop up on Antiques Roadshow.

Like, yeah, it's a cup. My great grandma bought from a traveling salesperson for $1.20 in 1873, and we've just kept it in the house, and oh my god, it's worth $800 million.
