Sonofabitch.
Welp, good luck Texans.
Your grid is going down again.
Ah yes the yearly service interruptions brought to you by the superior free market.
What is wrong with a company spiking the price of electricity by 4,000%? Don't like it just switch to another company that will do the same thing. Choice is wonderful.
The last time ~~hell~~ Texas froze over Centerpoint Energy decided to socialize their losses to all of their customers, including those not in Texas. I live in MN and I had to pay for their stupidity. And what other company? Lucky you getting a choice which company fucks you over.
You second college class in MacroEcon, or an AP Macro Econ course... generally goes over how cartels are bad, and the government tends to run utilities because if they don't, you get the exact situation that Texas has.
Damn renewable energy! Thank god dynamic pricing will keep energy companies going, those 10k dollar bills for one week aftee the grid mostly fails because they declined to winterize their infrstructure blessedly help repair the grid! (Or some shit, what are we going with on this again?)
Hope you all have automatic withdrawala on your accounts still, suckers. /s
The Texas power grid doesn't fail - it functions perfectly.
The only issue with it is this weird misconception that it's purpose is to deliver energy, rather than to transfer wealth upwards...
