The 8bitdo Pro 2 came with both a rechargeable battery pack and a battery holder for replaceable batteries. Works seamlessly with Linux and Steam via D-input. No personal experience with the Pro 3 to say how it differs.
Really like their controllers. My only complaint is that they would disconnect sometimes but that eventually stopped without me doing anything so I will blame windows on this one (which means it will work flawlessly on Linux no doubt). Great quality and amazing price.
