World News
A community for discussing events around the World
Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
- Post news articles only
- Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
- Title must match the article headline
- Not United States Internal News
- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
-
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF OCTOBER 19 2025
-
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Not even the experts know yet WTF has happened and you are asking for the whole government to do EXACTLY what the PP and V🤮x say... but the problem is "the mindset of the typical Podemos voter" (whatever it is).
Do you really think the rest of the people is stupid?
I don't know what you're talking about. Is there some language barrier here?
I'm not asking the whole government to do anything. I'm saying they terribly mismanaged some things and it's time for them to go. Not because of this one accident but because of all the issues Renfe had in recent years, because of the energy grid issues and because of how they fucked up car charging infrastructure. And they will go after the next elections. The did some good things, it will be a shame that lose some momentum on worker rights and environmental issues but I don't think it's enough to ignore their corruptions and incompetence in other areas.
I'm also not saying anything of this is because of Podemos voters. I'm saying it's your problem. If you think PP and Vox is the same you simply don't know that much about politics and probably vote based on some propaganda and/or emotions.
And PP WAS different (but not that much) from V 🤮x before. But today Ayuso is moving the party toward the far right with little push back from Feijoo. Remember: Aznar came from Falange, not the center-right and about Rajoy, I'll just say one thing: Caso Reace.
About the Renfe problems... just one thing: I live in Extremadura 🤷
And what the government is supposed to do is to REGULATED those companies. It's supposed to have a energy policy that will not destabilize and collapse the grid. If it pushes green energy it should also invest in proper energy grid that can handle it.
Same for car charging infrastructure. They let private companies do whatever the want while subsidizing them with public money. Now I have to use private chargers using private apps that require all personal data. Chargers that were build using money from my taxes. The government ignored the whole thing for years and is only now building first public charging stations. This is all coming years later than mandated by EU. So they are supposedly pushing sustainable transportation but in reality they just gave bunch of money to private companies creating the worst system possible.
And it's the same with Renfe. They pushed public transport while mismanaging the infrastructure. They spend bunch of money connecting smaller town and increasing numbers of passengers pushing the tracks beyond its limit.
So they have good ideas, I like the direction they want to take us but they are terrible executing at managing things. It's Podemos releasing rapists from prisons by mistake but on national scale.
Still, it's not that I strongly oppose PSOE. I more tired of their bullshit and I think a change will not be that bad. Maybe it will give them chance to change leadership, reorganize, unite on the left... Having Vox in the ruling coalition will suck but things can't continue the way they are now.
