r/stupidpol, it's kinda their reason d'etre. That said active trans affirmation is still a minority opinion in the general population, the average Joe thinks of trans people as somewhere between a stranger type of gay and a normaller type of lunatic.

Joe thinks they aren't really doing anyone any harm, but he's not ready to spend any effort defending them politically. If the TV keeps telling him the wokeratii is coming for his kids, he'll at least consider listening.

There is some hope, homosexuality was in much the same play 35 years ago, the phobes lost then.

So is it called Stupid Pol because they're acting like idiots. Please tell me they're just acting, but only if it's true.

"Stupidpol" is a portmantau of "Stupid" and "Identity politics". The idea is that r/stupidpol critising "wokeness" from a leftwing perspective. They are not ironic.

Transphobia and other bigotries are officially banned, but whenever you make a space specifically for "VAR but not woke" dodgy comment sections are kinda inevitable and VAR, whatever VAR is, is less of a focus.

That certainly explains it.

Both the active transphobia and why there is another stupid pol post that tries to say that the movie Sinners is racist against white people.

Personally , I think that attacking woke from a left wing perspective is complete foolishness. How the hell are you going to be a progressive but disagree with the concept of civil rights?
