Yeah I was always under the impression that the message was "Scott sucks and needs to get some self awareness about how he treats others" even when I first read it 15 years ago. Looking back on it though, there is stuff in it that makes me cringe too hard for a reread, like the Knives stuff.

I get that he's supposed to be naive and selfish, but that poor girl.
