“BD” refers to Franco-Belgian comics, but let's open things up to include ALL Euro comics and GN's. Euro-style artistry from around the world is also welcome. ^^

-BD = "Bandes dessinées"
-BDT = Bedetheque
-GN = graphic novel
-LBK = Lambiek
-LC = "Ligne claire"

I was reminded the other day of Hollywood movie posters around the world, and how they could wildly reinterpret the original posters and themes to fit their region. Specifically, I once saw a collection from perhaps India or an African nation, in which the artist(s) pasted together newspaper & magazine scraps, then did bit of highlighting to create brilliant, ad hoc local versions, usually wildly original and tremendously amusing.

I still haven't found anything like those online yet, but others from around the world are abundant, including ones from across Europe. So yes, I'm working on upscaling / improving a couple of the poorer quality ones to round up in to a proper collection. The one above happens to be one where there was already a better version online, so no upscaling needed, this time.

Now, looking a bit closer, I find it interesting how a bunch of the more famous stars were oddly omitted from the poster, starting with Mark Wahlberg. Was it simply a case of the designer going for actors that Polish audiences were familiar with, or was it something else, perhaps? How would they know Nicole Ari Parker, for example? In any case, there's almost always something curious going on in these reinterpretations...
