Obviously it's not something that upsets me, but I was expecting there to be ads and haven't seen any in several weeks of usage.

I've used it on several networks and do not run an adblocker on my phone, nor do I currently use Pihole or any similar DNS based adblocking.

Am I just fortunate, or is this beta related?

Might be in the EU or something I think?

I am ~~in the EU~~ in a country that implements the GDPR, so if @ljdawson@lemmy.world has set up something like that, it's possible. But I'd be surprised, as I'm pretty sure he is British and would have GDPR-compliant advertising.

Edit: Forgot that the country I live in is no longer in the EU :(
