Attack on Titan's fanbase has a lot of fascists in it who like the protag that goes "we must genocide the world to rid it of destructive Titans that killed my mom", which in the manga in particular is framed as just "morally grey". Together with sus statements by the author venerating a Japanese nationalist the series has been accused of doing apologetics for Japanese fascism and being a revanchist power fantasy.
