Henry Ford was an open Nazi to the point the Feds removed him from the business during WW2.
He wasnt just a fuckin open Nazi, Hitler practically wrote him a goddamn Love Letter in Mein Kampf.
Ford also financially supported the Nazi Party in its early days
Also received the highest medal and honors that could be bestowed to a foreigner, from Nazi Germany.
Then, in 1942, when such things started reflecting badly on him, he suddenly went "oh no no no, Thats not me, I hope this whole business ends with world peace and love amongst everyone"
He is a national fuckin disgrace.
It's slightly more complicated than that. Still doesn't make him look good but it's more nuanced.
He was a Nazi and flagrant racist before Nazi was the unequivocally negative descriptor we think of it as today.
He thought Nazism was right for America the same way he thought square dancing would keep away the blacks and that the Jews would be undercut if he did car financing without banks.
He was awful and a patriot, so when Germany went to war with America he was unequivocally in favor of destroying the Germans.
He still agreed with them on everything else.
