The world we live in isn't just dystopic, it isn't just stupid, trying to describe all the ways it sucks just makes for a really boring story.

Lives can be replaced. That's what women are for.

But what about CEO bonuses, huh? What about a lost quarter bonus because the company didn't earn enough? That quarter passed and the poor CEO skipped their bonus! That's simply evil!

/s just in case.

Reminds me how a couple months ago SCOTUS decided that federal government paying states for SNAP was irreparable harm, and people dying from hunger wasn't. It shows the logic underlying both fascism and capitalism quite clearly.

Oh I remember where this happened, I think it was in Absofuckinglutly nowhereville!

Company down this quarter? Fire the employees, bonus for the CEO!

Oddly Japan, the country with the most infamous work culture ever, seems to have a cultural tendency for company leaders to take pay cuts when times are tough.

I think honor and responsibility are pretty important in their culture too, so the CEOs probably feel like they actually need to take responsibility there as opposed to everywhere else where they feel entitled to more money simply because they exist.
