How? I'm a certified abrahamic hater but you can't just ban religion and impose thought policing. Soviets tried but it backfired massively.

And at the end of the day, as long as it's modern enough that it's not harming people's lives, who cares?

the core motivation would seem to be more the ability to use the wedge issue as an excuse to extort concessions from a weakened great power which held more land and ‘economic opportunity’ than it could defend anymore.

If you read PugJesus' accompanied explanation, you'd be wiser and less loud.
