Food waste specifically is kind of tricky because it's perishable. So much of the waste comes down to logistics and timing, it's not just being tossed for no reason.

The bigger issue is all the food and land that goes into animal agriculture which produces approximately 1/10th of the food plant crops would, and are consumed predominantly by the rich.

The other pieces are shameful though.

A lot of food waste happens at the supermarket level, and is perfectly fine but past a 'best by date'. Sure rotten veggies and such aren't good, but a packet of noodles or canned goods sure can be.
