It got confused with season 5 airing 9 years ago. Gintama as a series started April 2006. Bot got me questioning the progression of time for a second...

Yea they just added a "." to it. Makes you think which one is this again? It's not uncommon in anime. For example "NEW GAME!" -> "NEW GAME!!" and "Shinryaku! Ika Musume" -> "Shinryaku!? Ika Musume"
