I've been taking to calling them I.C.E., sounding out each letter. Neuters the "cool" factor that I think they try for.

This is the United States. We don't do cool trains. Only cars are allowed to be cool.
It used to pass in front of my old apartment on its way to Amsterdam, cool train.
In a better timeline that would be the ICE we had too.
