I am looking for my next smart phone.

It seems like I will choose between a Fairphone 6 or Nothing 3 (or any other phone) How do these phones compare?

Android.

I have a lot of thoughts on xperia, definitely flagship pricing.

Android can be OK: FOSS is acceptable as it's international cooperation that propels it and source code can be reviewed by European cyber security agencies.

Linux is not European because it happened to start there nor is KDE European because it happens to have a german HQ, the code is what matters and the code is written and reviewed by Devs all over the world.

Android is locked by play services which is a google product. Notifications are managed by google. Payment platform is googles. Phone projection is managed by google. Webview is google.

Yes code matters but there are reasons behind fiss projects booting out developers by teir nationality also.

Play services are not necessary to run correctly and effectively android. Notifications can also not be handled by Google (unified push exists), payment platform can also not be google, curve is there.webview: I know at least two other webviewers that can be used, phone projection through USB to an monitor is now within AOSP, or you meant android auto and good news: there is now a way to get it outside of Google and degoogled roms are starting to push it forward.

I bought a second hand pixel for graphene and these were the issues I ran into. Auto would not work. There was also a block on curve but I cant remember it. Those two made me reflash it.

Also Sony is shipping with all those through google is the issue.
