I think you misunderstand what tankie means entirely.
It literally was a slur used to describe the British socialist / communist party that was in lockstep with the Soviets and was FOR their brutal responses. Saw them as right and didn’t speak against them.
It is literally a term used to slur folks who believe the “through any means necessary, especially violence”
I don’t care why the Hungarian Uprising happened in context to how the Soviets reacted and where the term tankie came from, that’s irrelevant to what is being said. I don’t doubt the CIA had a hand in any of it, but I know it was the Soviet Tank Diplomacy that the term tankie is referencing.
You can’t just arbitrarily rewrite history and try to change something because you don’t like it, you can try but it just makes you wrong.

Nope, I am saying “Yeah well the police wouldn’t have been so brutal to those CIA agents if the CIA agents hadn’t been CIA agents.” Are you for CIA-backed, claimed "freedom" fighters? Cause that sounds like you're functioning as an appendage of the US empire.
