In an explosive interview about his medical treatments, Trump also admitted that he applies makeup to his hands, saying that the large daily dose of aspirin he takes to thin his blood causes them to bruise easily.

...

He visited Walter Reed Hospital in mid-July after suffering “mild swelling in his lower legs,” and an ultrasound showed he has “chronic venous insufficiency,” a common ailment in older people that makes it more difficult for the blood to travel to the heart from the legs through smaller veins.

Right, but the novelty of this story isn't that it's being pointed out - it's that he admitted it so freely after bragging about his health.

He's not just 79, he's unhealthy for a 79-year-old

I dont know man, I'm not seeing the big story.

If someone argued with me that two and two equals five for ten or so years, if they suddenly gave an interview and announced to the world that two and two is indeed four, then I can't say I'd give a flying fuck.

Perhaps it's a personal thing.

You don't think that'd be news even if that "someone" was the president of one of the most powerful countries in the world? You wouldn't even wonder what happened to make him say it?

Trump never admits to being wrong. What changed in The White House that made him go back on a claim he's made probably 100 times?

No, I guess. I genuinely want to hear as little as possible about what that tool has to say. It was rather nice for a bit in 2020 where we didn't get the mass exposure that every shitty soundbite he drops generated.

Much like his reasonably normal-for-his-age maladies, I just put his flip-flopping down to his age and declining health. It's not as if he hasn't changed direction on things before, on tariffs or conflict mediation or other actually important things.

Roll on 2028, or whenever the next US election is.

edit: missed a word
