There is that word again, terrorist. Who determines who's a terrorist and who is a freedom fighter? When the Algierians liberated themselves from the french they were terrorists, when zimbabwe liberated itself from the settler colonialism of Rhodesia they were labeled terrorist, when Iraqis fought back against their American occupiers they were called terrorist. So what is a terrorist other than an oppressed individual who opposes colonialism and imperialism through whatever means necessary? Who incites more terror, the oppressed person brought to immense violence or the empire who's oppression created them? Terrorist is a pejorative we use to dehumanize those who violently oppose their own destruction through any means available to them. I need you to think on this. I need you to genuinely wonder about who gets labelled terorist, why, and who the label serves. If the word had existed at the time the British would have called US revolutionaries terrorists. Hell, The French did call their revolutionaries terrorists. I wholeheartedly support Hamas in their fight against Israeli occupation and genocide. I encourage you to do the same. That's why it's quite pertinent that the flag in question was the flag of Hezbollah, not the flag of Hamas, and that they're alleged to have said "up Hezbollah" and "kill your MP". Put it all together and you don't get a bunch of honourable defenders of freedom.
I support Hezbollah wholeheartedly in their solidarity with the Palestinian people and their fight against western Imperialism. Mo Chara is correct on all fronts.
Do you oppose genocide?
I know you are about to say some bullshit but sure why not, I'll bite
I ask because Hezbollah denies the holocaust and makes it clear they hate Jews in general, not just Israel and Zionism, so I don't see how you can oppose genocide and support an organisation would gladly carry one out given the chance.
Is it really that hard to oppose two sides in a conflict?
If that's true then call them genocide supporters of you like. But I agree that this word terrorist needs to be retired. It's way too nebulous and used almost exclusively to whitewash violence by states.
I don't care what Hezbollah believes and I don't have to. I am well aware of their flaws but I support them regardless because we cannot expect them to be perfect in their circumstances. The Algierians did not have perfect beliefs, the soviets didn't, the people of madagascar didn't, nor the Aztecs. I support all of them regardless. I do not expect perfection from people fighting for their right to exist and prosper. I even expect severe imperfection from them. This does not dissuade me. To expect that from them only serves imperialism. Are you honestly surprised so many Arabs deny the holocaust when the only jews so many of them have met were Israelis who use the Shoah as justification for colonialism? I probably wouldn't believe them either.
This is so far from expecting perfection that your reply is funny. It's the lowest of bars. Only the barest shred of nuisance is required to understand that "enemy of my enemy" isn't a perfect guide.
And here we see a civilized Westener once again setting the bar of morality for the Barbarians from the Orient, after, while and before he continues to rape them and their lands because of their racial inferiority, because they just won‘t obey and subordinate.
And here we see an incensed keyboard warrior accusing someone they've never met of racism, rape and pillage.
