While society may be trending safer in actuality, it seems people's perception is that it's trending towards the dangerous.

I'm sure this has nothing to do with the 24/7 ~~ragebait~~ ~~fearbait~~ "news" cycle nor social media, nooooo.

But in effect that means no matter how safe it gets, they won't feel safe by design so those companies and influencers can make more money.
