They always say some shit like, "this is not the man I voted for."
Uhh, who did you vote for, then? Everyone else knew he was a massive rapist and conman.
"I voted for the racism, misogyny, xenophobia, corruption, grist, and science denial... but I did not vote for it to personally impact me!"
But in fairness the only evidence of that was his past presidency and business dealings, and that would have required paying a modicum of attention. Which is beyond their intellectual capacity.
