That's cool, but do people still type in .com domains?
Only if you want to go to a website.
Of course we do. It takes you directly to the site without going through a search engine.
What do you mean? .com is not a hard coded default. If you don't put a .com, it won't bring you anywhere.
I think they mean: don't people just Google the site they want, who actually types out a complete url anymore?
People who know malware sites that look legit prey upon people that google search for a website.
What I had to observe so far they type the whole domain... into Google search

I'm confused, like do you mean you web search every website you regularly use or do you mean you let your browser auto complete the URL?
People who want to go to a website and not get tricked into downloading malware becauae they searched for a website instead
Until you get malware because you typo googlr.com
googlr.com is safer than google.com in many ways.
But that's how you download the newest Firefex!
