I often think about this when walking around my neighborhood and constantly being barked at by peoples' dogs when I walk past houses. I don't notice it as much when I travel, people walk their dogs around and they don't turn their heads for anything.
US-Americans are skeptical of fucking anything going on past their doorstep, including their own neighbors casually walking on the sidewalk, so of course it rubs off on the dogs and they're antisocial AF.
