Unless they're charged with perjury, this is just another example of the failure of the justice system.

Charges first, then trial, then verdict, then sentencing.

Unfortunately, the snail's pace of the justice system is its Achilles' Heel. The fascists are using that slowness to do anything they want right now, and push off consequences as long as possible. Lather, rinse, repeat.

So, to correct my previous comment, even if they're charged with perjury, the justice system has failed.
