It's been a while since I've done a deep dive, but iirc most of the anti-legalization assholes are heavy in the pocket of private prisons and alcohol companies.

also they don't have the avenues for legal pot revenue like oligarchs in legal states do. california for example can get money from private prisons, alcohol AND pot. but that ship has sailed in red states, they are probably never getting legalization just like we're never getting legalization at the federal level.

Au contraire, my good comrade. A bunch of pot shops in eastern Oregon formed a PAC and contribute campaign funding to Idaho legislators that are against legalization. So the red states do get some revenue from it!

Virginia would have legalized it like four fucking years ago if they didn't have a Republican governor who just was like, nope, VETO'D. with no recourse for the populace of course, god bless democracy

they now have a democrat governor so I wonder what the next excuse will fucking be to prevent me from being able to just go to a fucking store and buy weed
