my partner is looking to purchase a digital camera for mostly nature and wildlife photography and some candid urban shoots. however, she has a neurological condition that greatly limits her grip strength so she's looking for something on the smaller side. in the past, she used a nikon fm2, so she's looking for something with that feel but digital.

we've heard a good bit about the fujifilm x100 series, but if anyone here has experience, i'd welcome some input. thanks.

I'm a fan of mirrorless ~~SLR~~ cameras. Todays mirrorless cameras are very light and compact, so you'd only have to worry about the weight of the lens. Personally, I've never shot with film so I can't say if it's comparable, but my Sony a6000 is lighter than any film camera I've held. There's also a good chance you can get an adapter for the new camera to be able to use the nikon lenses on it.

If you do want a fixed lens, you may want to look into bridge or ultra-zoom cameras. They will be heavier, but have the ability to zoom to telephoto focal lengths which would be better for wildlife photography.
