The political messaging was comically weak; almost makes one wonder if there is some self-censorship going on, although it's much more likely that they just don't give a fuck. It's like in the Alien: Earth show with the contrived presentation of the billionaire bro. It is so stupid. Sometimes subtlety works a lot better in highlighting a message.
I felt that it was too well packaged and slick.
This is one example. It feels like they wanted broad coverage by trying to include a character that appeals to different elements of the market. I would prefer something a bit less by the book.
Something crazy, more fucked up, but also with satirical comedy (but not in the obvious way). More inspiration from Italian 80s post-apocalyptic movies and Albert Pyun.
Just look at the trailer for 2019: After the Fall of New York.
As I said, I don't mind people loving the show. I expected it to be not for me and that's fine.
My issue is with people saying that you can't enjoy New Vegas and dislike the show.
So you want it like a pulp movie? Is that what I'm understanding? Like machete?
More post-apocalytic b-movie than Machete style pulp, but sure.
I am open to alternative enterpretations, but not the super low effort social critique (that becomes almost counter productive) and the weak character writing.
