Lilly McGann is a mixed race cis woman in her 60s, retired Air Force Colonel, and trans-inclusive lesbian. She has a fiery resolve, strong sense of duty, and powerful leadership skills. As the Red Dragon X-Knight, she commands fire and has immense strength.
Rocky Anoa'i is a trans Samoan prince in his 50s, a former competitive longboarder, and is aromantic. He's the relaxed heart of the team, although he's not afraid to get snarky. As the Blue Sea Serpent X-Knight, he controls water and can move at incredible speed.
DeShaun Oliver, the youngest of the group in his 20s, is a Black American from Fresno, California who made his living as a hairdresser but whose passion was teaching karate. Using they/he pronouns, DeShaun is nonbinary trans. As the Pink Unicorn X-Knight, DeShaun has control over magnetism and enhanced wisdom, making him the brains of the operation.
Together they discover the power to transform into armored forms, unlocking immense power. Their mission: uproot the vast Vampire conspiracy within the military-industrial complex and prevent the proliferation of devastating weapons upon a war-weary world.
But a new enemy stands in their way: the Orange Roc, a mysterious X-Knight who, unlike our heroes, has mastered her powers. Can the team overcome this mighty foe and create a peaceful new world? Find out in Issue #2 of Legendary X-Knights!

This is my first time hearing of any of this (comic, rocky johnson, etc) so maybe there's something obvious I'm missing, but what's the connection to Rocky Johnson?

Rocky Johnson was a pro wrestler, probably best known these days for being the father of Dwayne Johnson (The Rock, a million Hollywood movies). In the 80s, he was charged with SA, leading to his wrestling career drying up. There are other questionable things he's been accused of too.
