Sorry, after a bit of messing around, the issue returned.

It doesn't happen with every post though and seems sporadic.

Interesting.. is it loading a cached version or returning 0 comments? Does it seem related to remembering comment scroll position?

When I open a post, it may initially show zero comments. A pull-down refresh fixes it. It doesn't happen on all posts all the time though.
