This could go both ways right?

There is just as much of a chance he is doing lip service to freaks and ghouls so that he can actually make it to his inauguration with minimal friction from the establishment.

However, I still acknowledge there is just as big, if not a bigger chance he was doing lip service to his base. The cynic in me leans this way, but we’ll have to wait and see what kind of centrist he actually is.

You gotta remember that people use DSA as their political vehicle because they fundamentally believe change is impossible. When they get into office, capitulating is the most natural thing in the world.

Yup, that’s where my head is at. I don’t have any faith in the establishment or the US brand of electorialism saving us from itself. I didn’t intend to play devils advocate, just pointing out that him saying “I’m interested to hear more” is just a means to get out of the current situation. I still think he betrays his base, like a normal DSA operative, but it shouldn’t be a shock to anyone who wants revolutionary action.
