The metro tunnel is not on any line near me, but I still want to go through it just for funsies. I reckon other people will have the same idea when it's free on the weekend. I have wanted to try a Footscray banh mi for some time though, and hopefully it will be worth the whole train switcheroo situation

Go to Nhu Lan when you do your Footscray trip, it’s a local institution. The Savers is pretty good there for some op shopping.

Most savers have those now, the one in moorabbin has for a year or two.

there's a very popular banh mi shop across from the main train station entrance, past the tram stop and near the bus stops

but Footscray is looking pretty run down and dodgy, think the worst parts of Richmond

Eh, the most transport central bit is doing pretty well but the edges are certainly run down and emptying rapidly. There were a couple of nasty fires, and a bunch of landlords who fail to see an empty shop earns less than an occupied one at less exorbitant rent. Damn pity.
