As a Swedish person: why are weird people so obsessed with blonde hair?
I literally can't find a scientific explanation. The closest is a reddit post that says most blondes turn brunette, so blonde hair is associated with youth. My spouse is an example.
I'm mexican american. White, blonde, and blue eyes = rich hollywood star to mexicans. There isn't much research into the genetic preferences, so it could be a matter of forms of exposure? They watch a lot of american shows? I don't know.
You're right that the straw-blonde hair that kids often have turn much darker in adulthood, so there may be a connection to perceived youth. Exposure likely also plays a role, but I'm still at a loss for how deep this seems to go.
It's fetishism. Same with their BS about women being barefoot, pregnant, in the kitchen. Many of these same people openly proclaim to pursue 16-19 year olds because of their fetish. It's all a fetish for these people, and they're making it everyone's problem.

Because it most parts of the world it's rare.
