Wouldn't it be nice if there were companies that are owned by humanity in the sense that they are managed by democratic decisions where every person in the world has one equally weighted vote?

Are there historical examples of companies that are managed by a community through democratic decisions? How have these companies developed? Are there examples of failed projects? Are there examples of successful projects?

the mondragon corporation used to be a worker-run cooperative in spain, but right now hires regular employees as well. lijjat in india could be that too. recovered factories in argentina, such as the brukman factory, also fall in this category.
