My scalp has been terribly dry, so I bought some T-gel thinking it was scalp psoriasis. Made it worse. I think it might be the hair-dryer or water is too hot. My whole body is also very dry as well. Aloe vera does help for that. Not for the scalp though.
I think its the weather. Or stress. I currently have eczema in my ears for the first time in my life. Its horrible. I've had it elsewhere before, usually triggered by stress or environmental stuff, but ears suck. Maybe some gentle moisture for your scalp?
Inside your ears? :(
I put some unscented moisturiser yesterday which kinda helped, but not really. I think I need something heavier maybe.
Yep. Inside. Today I have resorted to a low dose cortisone cream and thankfully they feel a lot better. You may need to grease up your skin for a few days.
I found if I wash my hair too often, I'm itchy. Not enough and I'm itchy. I've now found a balance.
An old remedy I found that worked for me is 1 part cider vinegar and 3 parts water. I put it in a bottle and after I've shampooed and rinsed, I'd tip half the bottle on my hair, lightly massage my scalp and let it sit for a couple of minutes before a quick rinse then condition as normal. Be warned. It's very fucking cold so i warm the bottle first. I haven't had to do this since I found "the balance".
I also have dry skin so when I jump in the shower and I've warmed up I turn the hot down and periodically do this during my entire shower until it's just warm before getting out.
Interesting. What's your balance? I personally wash my hair twice a week.
Twice a week in the cooler months. 3 or 4 times in the sweaty summer.
I let my hair decide when it needs a wash. Lol.
You don't want psoriasis. I've had it behind my ears since I was 6, and it has never ever gone away. No moisturiser, steroid cream, or change of hair routine has had an effect on it. It comes and goes, recedes and spreads, according to its own will and desire.
It's probably the weather or stress that has caused your skin dryness. I've heard that having a hot shower as normal and then before you get out turn off the hot water and run yourself under the cold, can help as well. Hair dryers also cause damage from what I understand.
Noo :( that's not fun.
I have it on my hips and eyelids and it's so annoying. I've had the scalp problem for about two years
