I remember when that whole thing went down, that I'd wait a bit for thier Response. Since then I must admit, I've been much out of the Loop. Did they ever Respond or even acknowledge it?

I've also been Saving up for a FW12, and with me having almost enough to order one I think its plenty Important to revisit this... so now that the Dust has settled, what do you all think?

Wait they really only support 4 software projects? Thats way less then what I expected given thier Talk about the Big Tent strat, unless they mean it in a future headed sorta way... that is rather concerning to say the least...

But as you said, even with that considered they really are still the least bad Company around for this kinda stuff. I mean they have been around for around 6 or so years now yes? Yet this was thier first controversy I think... I suppose it kinda comes down to if they are willing to do stuff like this again/keep continuing...

"ongoing", while accurate, is misleading if you're wondering about big tent numbers.

They've sponsored about 20ish projects.

On reflection, RISC-V should have been included. Framework gave two computers to them.

There are two universities, one youth education non-profit, and the rest are conferences. Its very different to give money to a software project to support development costs, and a conference. Paying for an event is different, especially when they are paying for a booth, which makes it more of a marketing expense.

There are only 4 software projects with ongoing support. That's the concern. I think few would have an issue with framework's sponsorships if their support of hyperland was a one time donation. The document shows continued ongoing support of €600 per month.
