Depends on whether the site is hosted in a jurisdiction the US has power over or can lean on. They could also seize the domain which would break existing links.

For sure, but if current data center is in Canada then it could be seized. I'm hoping they at least have a mirror somewhere outside US jurisdiction.

Me too. And I hope people who can afford VPN or otherwise access news will post for those who don't.
