Are we really white knighting for dsa around here now? No need to be hostile, I barely scratched them lol

I just find it frustrating how eager hexbears are to dump all over an organization that just mobilized like 90,000 people to get into the streets and talk to regular people about the socialist alternative to our capitalist hellscape. I think the criticism of entryism would be valid IF the one and only result of that mobilization is winning this one election and then everyone goes back to brunch forever, but I think that's a very shortsighted and cynical view of the long term effects.

It just reads to me as, "join an org and organize with your community, and then get out there and try to radicalize the masses away from capitalism!"

...

"No, not like that!"

Idk I don't even live in NY I'm just happy for them. It's a bit "socialism is when the government does stuff" but a public-option grocery store is actually going in that direction, and a winning anti-austerity platform is good for everyone. At least some of the volunteers will be peeled away from liberalism through actual political education, and the rest of the country might see copycats if it actually works.

That's my opinion, I don't wanna get in a whole fight over it, I hope you can at least see my point of view even if you don't agree.

Hey, i think those are really good points. I wasn't trying to dump all over dsa, maybe i was too harsh. I was more reacting to how ridiculous the image is and how wild the lib mind is.
