MODERATORS

It's so toxic how Youtube will remove your comment on a video if you mention "Lemmy" or any other suggestion to descentralized alternatives to Technofeudalism. This has also happened to me on Reddit.

It's frustrating that they treat the fediverse like a trigger word, it drowns the possibility to guide people to new communities.

Edit: Best guess is the VPN server that I was using was blacklisted. It's weird to believe the word 'Lemmy' or 'Fediverse' is blacklisted as well, but I cant find other reasons.

Has this happened multiple times? What else did the post contain? I can easily believe reddit not wanting Lemmy mentioned since it's direct competition. I can't think of a reason for YT to do the same, tbh.

Yeah, i commented 3 times already, but theres no trace of the comments. All of them contained the word Lemmy. 🤷

you probably got shadowbanned, they considered it spam, or didn't like something else on the comment, the word itself is too generic, one could easily be talking about motorhead

[–] thermogel@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 weeks ago

From what I understand, shadowbanning means that the post is still up, but not getting any visibility until you specifically search for it. I'm complementing what the creator is criticizing, so it would be the algorithm who considers it spam, which is my main complaint.

Have you posted anything that didn't contain the word Lemmy?

[–] thermogel@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 weeks ago

Nopee, i'll try that

If you’re commenting too much they’ll just not let your comments go through. It has nothing to do with the content of your post though sometimes it has to do with the length.

The only reason i commented a 2nd and 3rd time is because it got removed from the first time. Its a 2 sentence comment, not long.
