I never RLY understood all the decadent western commercialism on display on Americanised "holidays" and never really got into it
Yeah makes sense, the commercialism is pretty gross. I've noticed over time that it seems stores have slowly started putting out their holiday decorations earlier and earlier. Like I started seeing Christmas decorations in stores a month ago. THERE IS NO NEED FOR THAT.
I think I really enjoy holidays because I had a fucked up childhood but Christmas and Halloween were always cool where my parents and family acted normal and gave me attention. So I get a lot of nostalgia and love decorations. Hearing Mariah Carey Christmas songs all December in every public space makes me want to commit horrific crimes, though
